Ambassador Profile
Hey Vols! My name is Amelya Fox, and I’m a second-year biomedical engineering major. I’m from the Chicago suburbs, so I’m your girl for questions about college out-of-state! I love reading, working out, and hanging out with friends and family. Since I’ve moved to Knoxville, I’ve loved exploring the outdoors and the Smokies.
Choosing a school was a difficult decision for me, but it was made much easier by the opportunities at UT, the welcoming environment of the Tickle College of Engineering, and the efforts of the Women in Engineering programs and student orgs. Outside of being an Ambassador, I’m a secretary for Biomedical Engineering Society, a member and mentor for the Society of Women Engineers, a member of the Haslam Scholars Program, and an undergraduate research assistant.
My goal is to work in medical research and design, and right now I’m planning on entering a PhD program after I graduate. This summer, I completed my first BME internship at Project CURE Chicago. I’m passionate about gender equality in leadership and STEM!
I love UT and Knoxville, and I would love to answer any questions you have. I’m excited to meet you!
