Ambassador Profile

Hello! My name is Camille and I'm a senior majoring in Aerospace Engineering.

I'm from Boone, North Carolina, but I went to high school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where I studied trumpet performance. When I first began my college search, I had honestly never considered UT. But as soon as I stepped on campus, I knew that UT was where I wanted and needed to be. The amount of opportunities I have had to get involved and further my education, along with all the wonderful friends and professors I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know here, could not have been matched at any other university I visited.

As a student, I’m involved in the Chancellor’s Honors Program, Engineering Honors Program, and Grand Challenge Honors Program. My freshman year I lived in the Engage Engineering Living and Learning Community. This LLC was also very important to my success freshman year, especially making the flip from music to engineering.

Outside of class and studying, I’m heavily involved in campus organizations. My freshman year, I served on the Student Government Association’s First Year Council and I was a member of the UT Wind Ensemble. I’m currently President of Habitat for Humanity, President of AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics), and I played trumpet in the Pride of the Southland Marching Band for two years.

I've had three internships, one at the University of Tennessee Space Institute after my freshman year, one at Pratt and Whitney the summer after my sophomore year, and I am currently an intern with Lockheed Martin Space working on the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle. I was also involved in undergraduate research for three years.

The Big Orange Family is here to support you through your college application process and if you choose to become a Volunteer, the Big Orange Family will do everything it can to ensure you succeed in everything you do. Feel free to shoot me an email if you have questions or just want to chat! I look forward to seeing you on Rocky Top and GO VOLS!
