Ambassador Profile
Hey Y’all! My name is Carson Bock and I’m a sophomore Civil Engineering major. I also double major in Political Science. I’m from Chattanooga, TN and I visit a lot to see my two dogs. On campus I’m involved with the United Residence Halls Council, the Public Administration Student Administration, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the American Society of Civil Engineers, and several other organizations to a smaller degree. Outside of my involvement on campus, I work for two education organizations, the Tennessee Technology Student Association and EdTrust TN’s EmpowerEd Network. I generally don’t have much free time, but I like to use my free time to spend time with my dogs, exploring Knoxville, thrift shopping, reading, and catching up on some TV.
I’ve lived in Tennessee my entire life, so I’m a lifelong Vols fan. But it wasn’t until I got very near the end of my college application process that I realized that UT was the place for me. It was always one of my options amongst a few others, but the more I thought about it and the closer the decision got, the more apparent it was that I was ready to be in Big Orange Country. I came into UT knowing a lot of people and being intimidated by the size of the school, but as I’ve been here I’ve really seen the truth of the phrase “you can make a big school feel small, but you can’t make a small school feel big.” Here at UT I’ve found so many little pockets of community that have made my experience here so rewarding and fulfilling. A lot of people say that they fell in love with UT because of the community, but I fell in love with the community after I’d already fallen in love with UT for its programs and everything else.
I’ve loved the time I’ve spent as a Vol and I know that you will too! If you have any questions about UT, please feel free to send me an email!
