Ambassador Profile

Hi potential future Vols!

My name is Gillian and I currently hail from Washington DC. I am a senior majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in American Sign Language. Some of my favorite things include drinking coffee, playing ukulele, stargazing, and solving differential equations (just kidding on that last one)! I am so excited that you are considering making UT your home for the next 4 (or more) years!

Choosing the right college for me was definitely a difficult decision coming from out of state but it became clear to me very early on that UT was the best place to be!

First off, the UT College of Engineering is one of the best in the country and has countless opportunities available to its students to advance their careers. I've been involved with undergraduate research and two different internship experiences in my time here at UT!

Secondly, I chose UT for everything that it offered me outside of engineering. I am involved in AIAA (the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics), the UT Singers a cappella group, Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society), and BOSS Dance Society. I was also a part of the Engage Living and Learning Community as well as the Honors Engineering Fundamentals program my freshman year if you have questions about those!

The Big Orange spirit on campus is something that you won't find anywhere else in the country or the world and there is something for everyone here on Rocky Top!

Please don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions (about engineering, campus life, honors programs, living learning communities, ANYTHING!). I am more than willing to answer any questions and I hope to see you sporting big orange soon. GO VOLS!
