Hello future Vols! Welcome to Rocky Top a.k.a Big Orange Country a.k.a Home of the Volunteers!
My name is Ifedayo Akinduro (Yes, I know it can be a mouthful, that's why my friends have settled to nickname me 'Iffy', so you can call me that too).I am a Junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering.I was born and raised in Nigeria. My family relocated to Nashville from Nigeria about five years ago now.
Passion for engineering has always dwelled in me since I was a little lad. I would break up old radio systems to get the motor that ran them, then find a way to design a propeller in hopes of making the RC helicopters that I'd seen on TV.
I knew that the University of Tennessee was the place for me immediately I stepped into it's large campus.I knew I'd thrive in an environment like this where there are endless opportunities to socialize with different people from different cultural background. There were different programs and clubs here that really helped me develop myself both socially and academically. I have been involved with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Tennessee Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (TLSAMP), Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), Engineering Mentoring Program (EMP) and a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Agriculture and Mathematics) mentor.
I enjoy drawing a lot. If you don't catch me in class, you'll most likely find me in North Commons, Hodges library. You also can't miss me on the roads of campus because I'll most likely be singing my lungs out.
I have really enjoyed my stay in Rocky Top so far, and it will be a pleasure to share with you what I love about this wonderful school in person. Feel free to contact me with any question you may have, I would be glad to help anyway I can.
