Ambassador Profile
Hi Vols! My name is Kendall Flores and I am a fourth year majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tennessee. I am from Atlanta, Georgia. Some of my hobbies include cooking, gardening, painting, and exploring museums!
Some may say I was destined to go to the University of Tennessee because my mother attended UT and my grandfather was a professor here. When I first arrived on campus, it was a little overwhelming being an out-of-state student and not really knowing anyone, but I began to join many different organizations, and eventually I met “my people.” One of the organizations I joined was the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), where I currently serve as the Region III Secretary, allowing me to pour back into the organization for all it has done for me. I am also heavily involved in the Jones Center for Leadership and Service on our campus where I served as an Ignite team leader, VOLbreaks Leader, a member of the 2021 Emerging Leaders Cohort and the 2023 Leadership Knoxville Scholars Cohort. This past summer I began working in the Engineered Designs for Biomedicine Laboratory (EDB) on our campus researching drug delivery systems to treat cancer. Last semester I had the ability to complete a co-op with Johnson and Johnson where I worked at the enterprise level overall consumer, pharmaceutical, and medical devices.
Every day on this campus I continue to learn about myself and all of the good I can do with my major as well as grow into my greatest self! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I can not wait to welcome you into the Volunteer family; go Vols!
