Hello! My name is Kendall Miller and I am a Senior studying Industrial & Systems Engineering here at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. In addition to my major in ISE, I am also pursuing a minor in Reliability & Maintainability Engineering. I'm from Kingsport, TN (a small town in Northeast TN), and I've loved living here in Knoxville for the past few years!
On-campus, I'm involved in several of our awesome student organizations. Within our department, I serve on the executive teams of the UTK Chapter of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) and Alpha Pi Mu (an ISE Honor Society). Additionally, I'm super passionate about Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), a Christian student ministry at UTK! On the weekends, you can find me cheering on the Vols in Neyland, going for walks with my friends in all of our fabulous Knoxville parks, attending Redeemer Church (right across the Strip from campus!), and studying (of course!).
Professionally, the Tickle College of Engineering has provided me with fantastic internship opportunities. After my freshman year, I was blessed to intern at Nissan in Smyrna, TN, working as a Maintenance Engineering intern in the Tire & Wheel department. I learned about maintenance and reliability best practices, process improvements, and welding (super exciting!). After my sophomore year, I completed a Supply Chain internship with Bell Flight in Piney Flats, TN! The folks at Bell taught me so much about vendor managed inventory processes and specialty process flow (plus I got to go for a helicopter ride!). This past summer, I completed a Material Control internship with BMW Manufacturing Co. in Greer, SC. I learned so much about the full automotive manufacturing process and even got to take a 'Hot Lap' (a ride with a professional driver!).
Thanks so much for checking out my bio! Please feel free to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. I'd love to chat with you and share more about UTK and the Tickle College of Engineering! Go Vols!
