Ambassador Profile
Hi, future Volunteers! My name is Madison Alberding and I am a senior majoring in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Tennessee. I was raised in Oakland, Tennessee, a small town outside of Memphis. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the Smoky Mountains (which is only an hour down the road!!), spending time with my friends, and finding the next best coffee shop around town.
When I first toured UT, I remember thinking that it was such a beautiful (and big) school. I was a little bit nervous about finding my place among so many people, but once I got here, I felt right at home. I quickly got involved with UT athletics, Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and the Engineering Mentor Program (EMP), and I even got to help build a rocket for the Argonia Cup! With help from the Engineering Professional Practice, I also had the honor of working as a Flight Dynamics Research Intern at Mclaurin Aerospace! There, I learned how to run simulations for aircraft under specific flight conditions as well as perform Guidance, Navigation, and Control for the Air Force. This past summer, I worked at Hexcel Corporation as a Quality Engineering Intern where I worked with honeycomb core and composites for aircraft.
I have loved my experiences here at the University of Tennessee and I know you will too! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have. I can’t wait for you to be a part of our Vol family here on Rocky Top!
