Mallory Marchal

Ambassador Profile

Hello future Vols!

My name is Mallory Marchal, and I am a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am from Loveland, Ohio, which is 20 minutes north of Cincinnati. I had a hard time making my college decision but chose the University of Tennessee because it was everything I was looking for in a college. It was away from home (but not too far), in a city, had big sports, and importantly somewhere I could succeed.

During the 2021 Spring semester, I had the opportunity to do a Co-op rotation for the Dennis Group, a design-build engineering firm in Duluth, Georgia. I worked as a Packaging Engineer, assisting with the design of new food packing lines and construction management. I was able to travel to 4 different food plants, learn various design programs, and receive my OSHA-10 certification. I loved taking what I learned in class and applying it to the real world! My co-op opened my eyes to the world of design and how it interacts with engineering.

Outside of school, I am involved with various clubs and organizations. I am a member of Phi Mu-Kappa Chapter, Society of Women Engineers, and National Society of Leadership and Sucess. I work for RecSports as an Intramural Ref and serve as the Public Relations Chair for my church's student ministry. On the weekends you can find me at a football game, catching up with a friend at a local coffee shop, or exploring the Tennessee outdoors.

I am so happy you are considering the Tickle College of Engineering! I have found my home here on Rocky Top, and I hope you do too. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about Mechanical Engineering, UTK, Knoxville, or myself!
