Ambassador Profile
Hello future Vols!
My name is Mallory Marchal, and I am a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering. I am from Loveland, Ohio, which is 20 minutes north of Cincinnati. I had a hard time making my college decision but chose the University of Tennessee because it was somewhere I could succeed and have the college experience I wanted.
This past summer I had the opportunity to intern for Ethicon, a Johnson and Johnson company, as a R&D intern in the Advance Imaging department. I developed test methods to define the capabilities of the Advance Imaging System, as well as produced the supporting documentation. I loved my time at Ethicon and plan to pursue a career in the medical device industry.
During the 2021 Spring semester, I had the opportunity to do a co-op rotation for the Dennis Group, a design-build engineering firm in Duluth, Georgia. I worked as a Packaging Engineer, assisting with the design of new food packing lines and construction management. I was able to travel to different food plants, learn various design programs, and receive my OSHA-10 certification. I loved taking what I learned in class and applying it to the real world! My co-op opened my eyes to the world of design and how it interacts with engineering.
Outside of school, I am involved with various clubs and organizations. I am a member of Phi Mu-Kappa Chapter and the Society of Women Engineers. I work for RecSports as an Intramural Supervisor and Ref. On the weekends you can find me at a football game, catching up with a friend at a local coffee shop, or exploring the Tennessee outdoors.
I am so happy you are considering the Tickle College of Engineering! I have found my home here on Rocky Top, and I hope you do too. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about Mechanical Engineering, UT, Knoxville, or myself!
