Ambassador Profile

My name is Neisha French, and I am a junior majoring in Civil Engineering. I'm from rural Rogersville, TN, and I enjoy crafts and trap shooting. On campus, I'm involved in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP). This is my second year serving as a TCE Ambassador.

I originally came to the University of Tennessee because campus is so close to home, but I stayed because the different programs and services offered by the Tickle College of Engineering kept me engaged and supported me even during times when I struggled academically. Two of my favorite offices are the Office of Diversity Programs and the Engineering Professional Practice office.

Through Engineering Professional Practice, I completed one co-op rotation with Brasfield and Gorrie and one internship with Fulghum, MacIndoe, & Associates, Inc. These experiences allowed me to decide on and narrow my career path. Based on my experiences, I chose to focus on Construction and Structures while completing my undergraduate degree.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions related to my experience as a student in the Tickle College of Engineering or if you want more information on programs for diversity and women in engineering! I’m excited to hear from you!
