Ambassador Profile
Hello!
My name is Neisha French, and I am a junior majoring in Civil Engineering. I'm from rural Rogersville, TN, and I enjoy arcades, comedy shows, and trap shooting. On campus, I'm involved in the ASCE Steel Bridge Team, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP). This is my third year serving as a TCE Ambassador and my first year as an Engineering Professional Practice Ambassador.
I originally came to the University of Tennessee because campus is so close to home, but I stayed because the different programs and services offered by the Tickle College of Engineering kept me engaged and supported me even during times when I struggled academically. Two of my favorite offices are the Office of Diversity Programs and the Engineering Professional Practice office.
Through Engineering Professional Practice, I completed three co-op rotations with Brasfield and Gorrie and one internship with Fulghum, MacIndoe, & Associates, Inc. These experiences allowed me to decide on and narrow my career path. Based on my experiences, I chose to focus on Construction and Structures while completing my undergraduate degree.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions related to my experience as a student in the Tickle College of Engineering or if you want more information on programs for diversity and women in engineering! I’m excited to hear from you!
