Ambassador Profile
My name is Rachel Albert and I am currently a junior in Chemical Engineering with a Biomolecular concentration. I am originally from Dickson, TN, which is about 40 minutes west of Nashville, so I was quite nervous about leaving my sphere of the state. For me Knoxville was the perfect place because I really wanted to stay within the state, but have enough room to become my own person. Growing up as 1 of 5 really defined a lot of my childhood, so getting out and seeing a new city was one of my biggest items on my checklist, after having a good engineering program of course. While the school is rather large, I have definitely been able to carve out a spot for myself both within the Tickle College of Engineering and the university as a whole. I have been involved with undergraduate research, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Engineering Fundamentals Program so if you have any questions about those, I’m your gal.
