Hey future vols!
My name is Dalton Bone, and I am a senior currently pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering. I am from Union City, TN which is a very small town located in Northwest Tennessee. I spent most of my time growing up playing baseball and basketball. I also really enjoy hiking and fishing whenever I get the chance! I am also a part of the National Society of Leadership and Success here at UT. I served as the President last year and I am the current advisor for the chapter.
This past summer I completed my second internship working at Siemens Digital Industries in Detroit, MI. Siemens Digital Industries is a leader in industrial automation and digitalization. They work with customers to drive digital transformation in manufacturing and process industries. I worked on their pre-sales team which is about 50% technical and 50% customer facing work. I got to work with Siemens software such as NX and Plant Simulation to help update current plant models and utilize some Terrestrial Scanning Technology to validate positions for these models. My past three years here at UT have been some of the best years of my life. Being part of the Tickle College of Engineering has allowed me to meet so many new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime. Although I am an in-state student, traveling five hours across the state was very nerve wracking to me initially. However, within the first week I felt right at home here at UT thanks to all the welcoming faculty, staff, and students I met. The opportunities at UT are endless and I am confident that everyone can find something that is right for them. The Tickle College of Engineering has been one of my favorite experiences of college, and I am so excited for the remaining year I have left at UT.
