Ambassador Profile

Hey future Vols!

My name is Lily Staddon, I am a sophomore in nuclear engineering with an honors concentration. I am from Apison, TN, a small area about 40 minutes outside of Chattanooga.

In high school, I attended an architecture and engineering program that helped me discover a passion for engineering and a desire to pursue it. Now starting my second year, I have no regrets; engineering here at UT is the right fit for me. I have found an amazing community here and boundless learning opportunities.

During my freshman year, I lived in the engineering living learning community Engage. There I build wonderful friendships surrounded by fellow freshman engineers, which served as an invaluable resource when studying and working on homework. Outside of the dorm, I became involved in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Women in Nuclear (WIN), and the Student Space Technology Association (SSTA). Currently, I chair for SWE and am the treasurer for WIN. Through WIN and UT, I was able to attend the national WIN convention in Pittsburgh and meet with all sorts of nuclear professionals.

UT is a huge school with numerous resources, it is truly a place to blossom. From attending nuclear colloquiums, board game nights, and even watching football games in the dorm common room, there is community and opportunity.

Please reach out to me with any questions. I hope to see you here.
