Ambassador Profile

Hello future Vols!

My name is Mason Roddy. I am a Junior pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Engineering Management.

I was born in Greenville, South Carolina. There I enjoyed playing baseball and hanging out with friends and family. I came to the University of Tennessee for its great balance of quality education and life outside of academics.

On campus, aside from being an ambassador, I am a part of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Student Science Technology Association. Both of these clubs allow me to have a space outside of my academics to focus on my passion for aerospace. I also participate in intramurals, spend time with friends, hike, and, of course, go to UT sporting events.

In my short time at Tennessee, I became published and presented my work at a student conference, participated in hypersonic research, and even shook hands with a few influential people in my field, like a Director of NASA Marshall and a Vice President of Lockheed Martin. None of these things could have been possible had I not come to Tennessee.

I am so happy I made the choice to come to Knoxville. I have made enough friends and memories to last a lifetime. I have found a place that allows me to grow and feel prepared for my life outside of college. I have loved my time in Tennessee, and I encourage you to come here as well to grow your family by becoming a Volunteer!
